Ant, Giant

Ant, Giant

Giant ants are huge vermin, and can grow from 6-9 feet long. They are hardy and adaptable–and deadly.

Giant ants live in large underground hives, which can hold as many as 100 ants. There will be 1 queen, with 5 workers for each soldier. Soldiers and queens have poison stings. If the queen is killed, all other ants will become confused for 2d6 turns, and leave the nest.

If test is failed, this creature does additional 1d6 damage via poison (no AR protection) then the victim suffers an additional 1d2 damage per day until an antidote is administered or magical healing is applied.

Like other vermin, giant ants have low IQ scores, and immunity to all mind- affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, Illusionary patterns). They are also able to see in dark like it is day out to 60 feet.

They possess no treasure, except for that left behind by tits former owners after they were killed by the ants.

The Isle of Ealdun

Giant ants are found throughout the Isle, but mostly in the uninhabited lands of the Fierinwood and Earken Forests.

The Middle Lands

Giant ants are found throughout the Isle, except in the far north of Tianshang. The desert varieties are particularly vicious.

The Vales

Giant ants are rumored to be found in the mountains beyond the Vales. They have been said to have appeared in the mountain walls of the valley, and destroyed at high cost.

The Shaman’s Valley

Giant ants are not found in the Valley.
