Polar bears are slightly taller than brown bears, but with a leaner build. They are equally at home in the cold water as on land. They have white fur, to match the snowy conditions of the far north.
Unlike most other bears, polar bears will lair in rocky areas or places where there are breaks from the wind, just as easily as caves.
Polar bears generally attack by tearing prey with their powerful claws for 2d6 damage. They will bite to hold their prey for 2d6 more, and then rake with their claws, ripping them apart.
The fur of a polar bear is worth 80-100 silver pieces in the far north, and far more in the warm southern regions.
The Isle of Ealdun
Polar bears do not exist on the Isle of Ealdun.
The Middle Lands
Polar bears are almost unheard of in the Middle Lands, existing only in the polar areas to the north of the lands of Tianshang. Because of this, their legends have made them to be either demon creatures or monsters of titanic proportions.
The Vales
Polar bears are not found in the Vales.
The Shaman’s Valley
Polar bears are commonly found beyond the great river to the north of the valley, near the great ice.
