One of the things I have been really trying to find over the years is a good way to do solo roleplaying. I have some ideas, but I need to work the details out.
Hello, everyone! Welcome to Untold Realms, my new home for my gaming. I plan to relocate my various game sites here, to better focus my time (and cut costs!)
One of the issues I had when moving from Cepheus Engine to Blades & Black Magic was deciding what level to start my characters. It turned out to be more complicated than I thought.
I am going through the process of converting the characters I had for the Middle Lands from Cepheus Engine to Blades & Black Magic. Aside from the game mechanics, there are a few other issues that I need to think through, though.
Blades & Black Magic is an excellent fantasy roleplaying game--but it does not have a magic system (yet). That is planned for later this year when C.R. Brandon releases the official "Black Magic" part of the game. In the meantime, I'm working out my own ideas for using improvisational magic with Blades... and keeping it within the spirit of swords & sorcery.
When I decided to start moving from SF tabletop miniatures gaming to actual roleplaying, I had to decide on a ruleset to use. I wanted to use a SF version of The Fantasy Trip, but that proved to be unworkable. Here's why I chose Cepheus Engine as that ruleset.
